First Tuesday Lima

First Tuesday connects you to possible partners, investors and other entrepreneurs. Join the largest network of entrepreneurs in the world and transform your project into a growing business with concrete actions and real contacts

First Tuesday is an independent Think Tank created by a group of entrepreneurs in London in 1998, with the clear intention of supporting and promoting the creation of new and innovative high-impact businesses associated to technology. This initiative exists in 18 countries and has more than 41,000 active members on the five continents. Today it reaches Lima through CENTRUM Incuba, following the creation of the First Tuesday Americans at the beginning of 2010.

The importance of First Tuesday internationally is because it connects entrepreneurs in the business and financial worlds, facilitates interaction between them, and leads to the cross-sectional use of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. First Tuesday has expanded throughout Latin America and is in the leading cities of Peru. This initiative is replicated in each city the first Tuesday of every month, succeeding in raising investment capital of more than US$150 million, for entrepreneurial projects around the world.
It is important for entrepreneurs to get to know each other on First Tuesday. They are the starts of the show, since at the start-up of a new business, usually the major obstacle in the way of success is the lack of a powerful network of contacts. This organization seeks to connect possible partners, investors and other entrepreneurs, including business friends.

The principal difference between First Tuesday and other entrepreneurial meetings is that its principal objective is to promote an entrepreneurial culture, not gain clients. It promotes the connection of actions and not concepts, and it does so in an informal and very relaxed way. There are many investors interested in the ideas around the organization, which is fundamental in creating a permanent space for encounter. Here formality is left to one side, to move to a more advanced stage in the project, and the emphasis is on people’s knowledge and ideas.

As of November 2010, the first Tuesday of every month, First Tuesday (FT) and the Center for New Business at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (CENTRUM Incuba) invite entrepreneurs in Peru to exchange ideas and do business, in a sociable, after-office atmosphere.
